Featured Partner Camp: Randy White's Big Man Camp
|
On Saturday, August 9th, 2008, Dallas Cowboys legend Randy White held his first big man camp at the Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas. This revolutionary camp
is designed to teach offensive linemen, defensive linemen and linebackers how to
apply the principles of the martial arts to either control or escape their opponent
on the line of scrimmage.
This initial camp focused on the basics of hand use and positioning to stop a rush
for offensive linemen and how defensive linemen and linebackers can use their hands
to escape an offensive lineman on a blitz.
Randy was assisted by Jeff Chase of the Dallas Desperados, Craig "Bubba" Norton
and Ray Parra from Warrior's Edge Martial Arts. This was an extreme hands-on event with a lot of individual instruction.

Blitz at Texas Stadium a huge success!
|
116 young football players braved the Dallas summer heat to come out to Texas Stadium for the Blitz. The players worked with some of the best professionals in football.
The coaches came from every level of professional football and included Randy White,
Deon Anderson and Jake Reed from the NFL, Will McClay, Clint Dolezel, Will Pettis,
Jeremy Calahan, Josh White and Jeff Chase from the AFL's Dallas Desperados and Lamont
Finley, Wes Cooper and Brad Frazier from the IFL's Frisco Thunder.
The event would not have been so successful if not for our great sponsors - The
Dallas Desperados, ESPN 103.3, Sugar Baby's Barbecue, Exact Sports and Aaron's Rental.
Aaron's made it possible for 50 inner city football players to attend the instructional
part of the Blitz.
The morning combine was presented by Exact Sports. The participants were introduced
to new technology-based drills that measured speed, strength and explosive power.
The young campers were impressed by the new technology.
During lunch, provided by Sugar Baby's Barbecue, the participants were treated to
a guest speaker, Don McPherson. Mr. McPherson spoke to the kids about the importance
of making the right decisions early in life. He gave examples from his own college
and pro career. The kids really related to Mr. McPherson's message. Gridiron Heroes
also spoke during lunch on the prevention of spinal cord injuries and to raise awareness
about their great organization.
The campers received a once in a lifetime opportunity. There aren't many people
in the world that can say that they worked with Randy White on the field at Texas
Stadium or ran a route with Jake Reed. This event will stay with these young players
forever.
